Behind the scenes with Shubham Mansingka on his trip to North East

North East

The Seven Sister States, unexplored paradise, heaven on earth, – what do I say about the North East India that hasn’t been said before. The majestic snow capped peaks and twisting roads across –every view from every state will make you want to hum the famous Hindi song, ye hasivaadiya.

Genuinely, that’s the best I can do describe the dreamy landscapes of Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Assam and more. My touristy knowledge can do no justice to any travelogue on this part of India; thankfully I found one curated by one of the bests!

ShubhamMansingka of A Boy Who Travels recently took a trip to the North East. Known for his offbeat travel choices and quirky tales (tales with a twist, as he calls it), Shubham’s travelogue of the North East is all the inspiration you need.

Nooks and crannies of the serene mountains and magical sunsets, Shubham has the perfect tale charted out. Don’t believe me? See for yourself.

A world within a bridge

This is where I want to be.

All those colours

Anything looks pretty when in the mountains

Never seen anything more beautiful

Genuinely never seen any place or thing this beautiful.

Heading into the unknown, the road sometimes feels like suspended in a time warp. Not a leaf moves, there are no trees at this altitude and humans seem to be non-existent. As the economics lessons of college remind me, ‘High risk, high return!’; and so it is true of Arunachal Pradesh. Arunachal Pradesh may be said to be one of the last remaining wildernesses in our country. #TheArunachalOdyssey #NorthEast #DiscoverNorthEast #ExploreNorthEast #travelgram #shimlalife #streetphotographyindia #ArunachalPradesh #hippieinhills #nothingisordinary #indiaclicks #indiapictures #natgeotravellerindia #lonelyplanetindia #thephotosociety #passionpassport #travelphotography #worldbestgram #igersoftheday #photojournalism #mypixeldiary #vscocam #bbctravel #travellingdiaries #myindiacnn #whereisnortheast #travellingdiaries #huffpostgram #incredibleindia #landscape

On the drive from Tawang to Bumla

Take note people

A carpet of green

Is this what heaven looks like?

A carpet of green spread in the valley The river was the stuff of legends And the locals spoke Of a waterfall That was the abode of spirits There was nothing much to do Here… Except Getting in touch with yourself. Have you done that lately? A pretty town called, Dirang

You knew this place existed?

Se La Lake

The manifestation of peace

Majestic mountains

The mysterious and calm waters…

Do you see the snowflakes?

Now this is called winter!

It just keeps getting better

No words. Just no words.

I know what I’m going to do next. Off to North East.

On the road to Tawang, Dirang is a quaint town to break the journey. And what better than staying with the monks at the monastery. They welcomed us with delicious butter tea and the dinner was epic! There was dall cooked with fresh herbs growing nearby, potatoes and cauliflower, rice and peas. And it was so so tasty.
