7 reasons Triund is calling out to you for a family trek!

Anyone who’s ever been to McLeodganj or Dharamsala has dreamt of trekking the magnificent Triund. The one peak, visible from almost every corner of McLeodganj is every mountain lover’s dream. The best bit – the trek is more of a walk and hence extremely viable for family outings.

A calming stretch, Triund holds the beauty of the Dalai Lama’s land in every inch. The regal mountains are home to peace and solitude, beauty and nature, and most of all a great getaway for quality family time – away from the rat race, beeps and buzzing.

Don’t believe me? See for yourself.

Nights at Triund look like this!

Still need more reasons? Pack your bags already!

A quick look at the details, Triund lies in the laps of the Dhauladhar Range and 18 km from Dharamshala. It’s best to base out of Dharamsala on 4 – 5 days trip and set off on the two day trek from there. Utilize the remaining time to explore the monasteries, Tibetan food, and the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium.

If you’re looking at a longer trip, visit Dalhousie on an adjoining mountain. It is a piece of heaven! But, that’s a story for another day!
